Linnaean Classification: Animalia, Chordata, Mammalia, Eutheria, Perissodactyla, Ceratomorpha, Rhinocerotoidea Rhinocerotid
Regulator because they are warm-blooded and can maintain stable body conditions with homeostasis
Migration because they travel from place to place in search of water
Generalist because they can live in several drier habitats, like desert, savanna and subtropical forests
Consumer because they get energy from consuming other organisms
Herbivore because their diet consists mostly of grass and foliage
Niche: The rhinoceros, while large and bulky, eats mostly vegetation. Rhinoceroses can live in a wide range of habitats to sub-deserts, savannas, tropical forests and subtropical forests. They have tough, leathery skin that helps to protect them from the sun, and they have horns (some have two, others have one) that they have adapted in order to fight other rhinoceroses and defend against potential predators like lions. They do not prey on any animals since they only eat plants, and while another animal may kill rhinos, their main predator is humans. People hunt rhinos for their horns and because of this, rhinos are endangered.
